AHC
Patience, problem solving – and ingenuity.
Time frame:
2005 - 2022
Key moments:
Had to address limestone fissures to get to bedrock to build
Ability to pivot because giant cobbles don’t work with traditional caissons
Complicated process to figure out pile caps, loads, mats with rebar
Limitations can lead to the result: When you can’t close down roads, you put a crane on the roof
The right questions identified the needed technical requirements, and led us to the experts we needed
Challenge:
Both of these projects had big questions to answer before any work could begin. They necessitated a lot of time, the right experts, and a healthy dose of ingenuity before landing on the right solution.
Our approach:
Whether it was developing new processes to stabilize the ground below, or imagining new ways to put a crane in the air above, barriers and unexpected challenges didn’t get in the way of achieving the tasks at hand.
Success factors:
Prior project experiences and trusted relationships built the necessary confidence to take on challenges no one had before. Our clients supported our process, and believed in our ability to achieve their vision.
Key characteristics of the project:
Success despite bad soil and unforeseen challenges underground
Team was invigorated by the phrase “No one’s done this before.”
Developed custom engineering to achieve goals
Kept asking questions until we arrived at the right solution
