Project Experience

  • Newaygo Workforce Housing (April 2024-present): multifamily residential project consisting of 100 market-rate apartments and associated amenities; construction scheduled for Spring 2025; $16M investment.

  • 1601 Madison Industrial Redevelopment (2020-2022): demolition of 250,000sf blighted factory; redevelopment of 3 acres with MCPC West Michigan headquarters; $14M investment.

  • Grand Rapids Innovation Park (2018-2022): partnership with Michigan State University to redevelop the former Grand Rapids Press building site (340,000 sf new construction for medical research, clinics, office, parking deck); $130M investment (two phases).

  • Walkerview Industrial Park (2015-2023): acquisition and development of 300 acres with roads, sanitary sewer, water service, regional stormwater detention, and underground electrical service; lots sold and developed for industrial, commercial, and hospitality uses; 425 Agreement established between Walker and Grand Rapids; $16M investment.

  • Windward Pointe (2015-2022): consultation and planning with Pure Muskegon to redevelop the former Sappi Paper mill (122 acres on Muskegon Lake).

  • Circuit West (2014-2022): collaboration with Consumers Energy to install alternative energy technology (solar panels, battery storage, underground electrical system) in Grand Rapids Westside district in conjunction with private mixed-use redevelopment efforts.

  • Various Mixed-Use Developments (2012-2022): 1) New Holland Brewing / Barley Flats mixed-use project (200,000 sf new construction for brewery, restaurant, office, apartments), $20M investment; 2) Fulton Place mixed-use project (150,000 sf new construction for apartments, retail, parking deck), $23M; 3) Bridge & Stocking mixed-use project (300,000 sf new construction for grocery store, office, parking deck, apartments), $60M investment.

  • Brownfield incentives (2007-2014): Secured over $30 million in federal, state, and local financial incentives for Midwest communities to support brownfield redevelopment projects.

Project Manager

Jeff is a seasoned real estate development professional with over twenty years of industry experience. His professional skills include site selection and due diligence, financial modeling, planning and entitlements, financing, owner/investor relations, and managing third parties (builders, architects, engineers, etc.) through the development and construction process.

He has experience developing several asset classes, including mixed-use, commercial, and industrial projects.

As a board member of the Muskegon River Watershed Assembly (MRWA) and Trout Unlimited, Jeff has devoted himself to the conservation of our state’s cold-water resources since 2010. During his term as president of the West Michigan TU chapter (2014-2017), he oversaw the restoration of 50 miles of streams and facilitated the transfer of 130 acres of land along the Coldwater River to the Michigan Nature Association. His current focus with MRWA includes river channel restoration, stream bank stabilization, and removal of dams in the watershed. 

Jeff has lived in Grand Rapids with his wife and son since 2007.
