Meet Matt Evans

Advisor

Matt Evans is the Co-Founder and CEO of Invictus Builders LLC, a commercial construction management company based in Detroit, MI. Matt co-founded Invictus with a focus on cultivating partnerships for sustainable community developments both locally and globally. His background includes hands-on experience in public and charter education, having served as both a teacher and principal in Detroit. Over the years, he has established deep relationships with organizations at the local, national, and international levels.

Matt has been an active member of the Detroit community for over 20 years. He has directed programs with Detroit public and charter schools, training youth in designing and installing off-grid photovoltaic solar panels. These programs integrated cross-curricular literacy and math skills through project-based learning.

Matt has also dedicated his time to developing international leadership programs for Detroit students in Dakar, Senegal, and across communities in Johannesburg, Soweto, Durban, and Cape Town, South Africa, introducing them to international travel, service learning, and leadership conferences.

An undergraduate member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. at the University of Michigan, Matt earned his B.A. and teaching certificate from Eastern Michigan University and holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Wayne State University.

He resides in Grosse Pointe Park, MI, with his two children.

Work History

  • Vice President and Regional Director for Rockford Construction, bringing years of executive leadership and community development expertise

  • Executive Director of E-Three Labs, an international non-profit organization headquartered in Detroit. In this role, Matt led international development projects focused on sustainable community development, specifically in education, design, and implementation of photovoltaic solar power systems in underserved communities. His leadership of E-Three Labs’ international technology and knowledge transfer programs in Detroit and Sub-Saharan Africa strengthened his global network of professional and personal connections.

  • CEO and primary investment strategist for Addison-Whitney, LLC, focusing on investments in hospitality and film production.
